Somerton Town Council joins the nation in mourning the death of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh.

As a mark of respect there will be a two-minute silence at both the Town Council and Planning committee meetings due to be held on Tuesday 13th April.

In view of public safety due to current Covid-19 restrictions, South Somerset District Council have provided a link to the official book of condolence has now been provided to allow staff, members and South Somerset residents the opportunity to safely pay their respects.

While people may want to gather to lay flowers or other items, Government Covid-19 guidelines mean physical books of condolence cannot be opened in public places at the moment. We are asking residents to please be mindful of the current coronavirus restrictions and consider safer alternatives, such as making a donation to charity.
