Election of One Councillor
for the Somerton Town Council
- An election is to be held for one Councillor for the Somerton Town
- Forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the Returning Officer, The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT.Copies of the nomination papers can be downloaded from www.southsomerset.gov.uk Copies can also by requesting by telephoning 01935 462462 or by emailing [email protected]
- Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 2HT between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm on any working day after the date of this notice (excluding Bank Holidays) but not later than 4 pm on Friday 29 October
- If an election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 25 November
- Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 9 November Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
- New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Council Offices Brympton Way Yeovil by 5 pm on Wednesday 10 November 2021, if they are to be effective for this
- New applications to vote by proxy except on the grounds of a medical emergency must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Council Offices Brympton Way Yeovil by 5 pm on Wednesday 17 November 2021, if they are to be effective for this
- Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT by 5 pm on Thursday 25 November The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 17 November 2021. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 17 November 2021.
