Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(2) (5 Day Notice)

B3165 West Street and Pesters Lane, Somerton (Temporary Traffic Restrictions)

 Somerset County Council, in exercise of its powers under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and after giving notice to the Chief Officer of Police, has issued a Notice, the effect of which is to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on the lengths of roads listed in the Schedules to this Notice.

This Notice will come into operation on the 21st day of February 2023 between 18:30 hours and 23:59 hours to enable Wessex Water to replace a Fire Hydrant in the carriageway. This Notice will remain in force for a maximum of 5 days. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

From the junction with Market Place in a westerly direction for a distance of 133 metres

Statement of reasons for making the Order

  1.  because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
  2. because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works
