Smishing is the SMS equivalent of phishing. Criminals disguise their phone number to make it look like it is from a reputable source to try and convince you to click onto the malicious link, or share sensitive information.
If you have lost money or provided financial information as a result of a phishing scam, notify your bank immediately and report it to Action Fraud or by calling 0300 123 2040.
